Stress, Trauma, and Burnout -- Oh My!

  • 5 Steps

In the legal profession, stress, trauma, secondary trauma, and burnout are more than buzzwords — they’re daily realities. But what do they actually mean for lawyers and how can individuals address them before their health, focus, and effectiveness are eroded? In this session, we define these terms clearly, explore how client trauma can impact legal professionals through secondary trauma, and connect these experiences to burnout. Participants will leave with a better understanding of how to manage their body’s stress response, complete the stress cycle, and maintain their well-being to support their ability to practice law with competence, diligence, and integrity.
